Amy + Cameron

Amy and Cameron held their wedding at a family property hidden away in Howrah, Tasmania. With a bushland setting and Hobart in the distant background, this wedding ticked so many boxes. Intimate? Check! Sentimental? Check! Delicious food? Check? A damn fun time? Double check!

The thing I absolutely love about shooting weddings on private property, is seeing what people create when there’s no restrictions or rules that they have to abide by. The whole wedding is left up to your creativity and I think that lends itself to truly unique and special celebrations.

Brooke + Simone

This session was everything! Brooke and Simone, visiting Tasmania on holiday got engaged at the one and only Freycinet. After Brooke popped the question with those incredible matching engagement rings, she organised a photo shoot for the two of them. I met up with them on a Sunday evening when it’s nice and quiet around Salamanca. We then wandered around the streets for a while, exploring all the nooks and crannies that Hobart has to offer. I don’t think I have ever photographed two people more in love than Brooke and Simone. I pretty much just sat back and left them to do their own thing. For the entire session, there was so much chemistry, laughter and happiness. These two are the epitome of couple goals!

Melinda + Matthew

Mel and Matt’s Gold Coast wedding was anything short of amazing. From getting ready in a skyrise apartment at the footsteps of Broadbeach, to saying their I do’s nestled in the gardens of Ecolodge Fellini. When they first asked me to fly over to Queensland to photograph their wedding, I immediately went into overdrive and started planning. I chatted with a couple of photographer friends that I have in Queensland and drew up a plan of where I could take the couple for their photo shoot.

Karina + Jon

When Karina and Jon approached me and said they wanted to elope, just the two of them, somewhere beautiful in Tasmania, I could have cried. I find intimate weddings and elopements to be so special and unique - it's such a privilege to be invited to be the photographer. Our first catch up was basically an hour-long brainstorm of all the amazing places in Tasmania that would be perfect for an elopement. We ended up settling on a stunning location in the south of Tasmania that had rolling hills with thick grass, epic views of Hobart from a unique vantage point and rugged cliffs for us to climb.

Lex + Jayden

Lex and I hit it off instantly when we met at the Weddings Tasmania Expo. Something that I hold so important, is building a good relationship with the couple’s that I photograph. Weddings are so special and I want my couples to see me more as a friend they’ve invited rather than someone who is working at their wedding. That’s why I’m always keen to catch up for a coffee or beer with people – it’s important to get to know each so that I can capture true personalities and not force people to do things that don’t necessarily suit them.

Luke + Rosie

Freycinet, sunrise and a surprise engagement, so much yes! Luke messaged me months in advance to tell me about his and Rosie’s plans to travel to Tasmania, where he would be surprising her with a ring. We brainstormed a few location ideas, but given he wanted a place that was iconic in Tasmania, Wineglass Bay in Freycinet National Park seemed an obvious choice.

Mon + Ali

Ben Lomond is located just outside of Launceston. It’s the only place in Tasmania where you can ski or snowboard and I was fortunate enough to head up there in August for an awesome engagement shoot with Mon and Ali. To get up to Ben Lomond, you need to drive up the infamous Jacobs Ladder – a steep and snowy road that hugs the side of a crumbling cliff as it snakes its way up to the peak. I snagged a lift up in the shuttle bus, and as I peeked out the window at the sheer verticle drop that awaited one wrong move, I couldn’t help but laugh at the thought of my old camper van trying to slog it’s way up here.

Marc + Lisa

Marc and Lisa are two of my oldest and best friends. Way back in grade 10 when they first got together, I was there (not in a creepy way). And when they get married in April next year, I will be there (again, not in a creepy way). Anyone who has met them knows that there is no couple that is more adorable. They wear each other’s clothes for god sake! In fact, I’m pretty sure that’s Marc’s burnt orange jumper that Lisa is wearing in this photo shoot.

Cradle Mountain is one of the must-see destinations when visiting Tasmania, it has to be seen to be believed. I absolutely love taking photos there. The snow, the epic views and the WOMBATS, what’s not to love? As a photographer, I particularly love all of the colours and tones in the landscapes, they are so unique and really compliment my style of photography.

Marisa + Chris

Marisa and Chris came to me and said that the two of them were travelling to Tasmania were planning to elope in at Villa Howden. They put the challenge to me to find a location nearby that captured the natural beauty of Tasmania. Location scouting is one of my favourite things to do as a photographer. My assistant/best friend/dog comes with me and we hunt down locations that fit the brief. In this case, we found a nature reserve close-by that had nice long grass, open wide fields surrounded by gumtrees and a killer sunset view of the towering Mount Wellington – if that’s not Tasmania, then I don’t know what it is!

Kasey + Chris

Kasey and Chris’ beautiful wedding was held at a Tuscany-inspired Airbnb just outside of Launceston, Tasmania. I absolutely love the intimacy and closeness of this wedding. For the bridal party photos, I took them to a hidden table in the bush where we had a private picnic with a cheese platter and champagne. Afterwards, the party kicked on in the courtyard delicious food, banging tunes and drinks aplenty.
