Tasmanian Wedding Photographer
Tasmania has a way of doing things differently. The scale, the history, the landscapes and the weather having a mind of it’s own. It makes weddings unique, special and so damn unforgettable.
I’m Jon Gazzignato, a Tasmanian wedding photographer based in Hobart, working across the state and further afield. A lot of what I shoot leans into places like this. Weddings that celebrate the good things in life and locations that never cease to amaze.
I’ve shot over 400 weddings, with most of those being in Tasmania, and I am constantly in awe of this beautiful place and all it has to offer.

What a Tasmanian Wedding Feels Like
Weddings in Tasmania tend to feel more considered. People aren’t just picking a venue, they’re choosing a location and building something special around it.
You’ve got coastlines, vineyards, old buildings, open stretches that feel completely removed from everything. Each one brings a different kind of energy, and the best weddings lean into that rather than trying to smooth it out.
There’s less pressure to follow a format here. It’s more about putting something together that heroes the place and all it has to offer, and letting the day take shape from there.
What I Love About Photographing in Tasmania
Tasmania has range.
A secluded rugged coastline to a modern architectural Airbnb, then into a space with history as old as time, yet it all still makes sense. It gives wedding galleries contrast, range and a depth that is hard to replicate anywhere else in the world.
That’s what I love about being a wedding photographer in Tasmania, and it’s what keeps me coming back time and time again. You’re never locked into one look or one type of setting. It gives you room to build something with a bit more character, and for things to evolve as the day goes on.
Tasmanian Wedding Venues
There’s a depth to venues across Tasmania that’s hard to pin to one style. Each one feels pretty distinct, and most of them are built around their surroundings rather than sitting on top of them.
I’ve spent time a lot of time moving around Tasmania shooting at some incredible venues, some that come to mind are Vaucluse Estate, Villa Howden, Frogmore Creek, Piermont Retreat, and Brickendon Estate.
Some lean more refined, some a bit more relaxed, but they all make sense for where they are.

Coastal, considered, and quietly dialled in. There’s an elegance to it that feels like the Italian coastline.
Clean lines, considered details, and a setting that doesn’t miss. For stylish weddings and couple’s who know how to throw down.
